Written during a stay in the city in 2016, Montreal is a reflection on a failed relationship, magnified by new surroundings. The song’s main theme imitates the chiming of an intercom in the Metro, ending in the rumbling approach of a subway, carrying you away from the past.
lyrics
I don’t find it easy
I don’t find it hard
Scratching both my palms
To get outside your yard
What will I do now?
Aimless and alone
Where will I find nothing to do
I won’t suffer instinct
I won’t get involved
Taking both your hands
The chords will not resolve
How can I look back?
Locked in constant step
Living in my head
